First Habitat Settlement

Ninety Homes for Low-Income Families

Habitat for Humanity Macedonia officially launched the construction work on the first Habitat Settlement in Veles for low-income families. Over the course of the next three years, Habitat will build 90 apartments in 11 separate builds on 4.700 sq.m. The plan for the first year is to build 24 apartments which will become available to the partner families before the settlement is fully completed. The average size of a home is planned to be 52 sq.m., and the complete investment for this settlement will be 2.7 million dollars. read more...

New project initiated

Healthy and clean water for 120 families

120 families in the municipality of Vasilevo, now successfully connected to the main water supply system, are beneficiaries of our new pilot project aimed towards financing the water supply and sanitation connection for underserved families. An additional 10 families in the village Rasche and 12 families in the village Mamutchevo were also accepted to the program and their connection to the main water supply system is in progress. read more...

Agreement signed with DIGH

A new agreement for financing HFH Macedonia's program aimed towards improvement of poverty housing has been signed with the Dutch International Guarantees for Housing Foundation (DIGH). The agreement, worth 1 million EUR and effective as of June 2008, foresees affordable loans for reconstruction and renovation of substandard homes in the next 10 years. read more...

On April 1, 2005 HFH Macedonia, affiliation of the global housing network Habitat for Humanity International and the Saving House Moznosti, implementing partner of the global microfinance coalition Opportunity International have signed an agreement of establishment of Home Improvement Fund. read more...


HFH - Macedonia and Moznosti initiated partnership through Innovative program in Macedonia. The Program should establish credit line that will provide small loans for reconstruction and renovation of the substandard homes. The credit line will be a disbursement tool of the Home Improvement Fund, established through joint contribution of HFH - Macedonia and Moznosti. The Program will provide non-financial services as well, in a form of advice and training for the credit beneficiaries. read more...
